Becky Hsu is an associate professor in the Department of Sociology in the College and the Asian Studies Program in the School of Foreign Service. She joined the Georgetown faculty in 2011.
International activities include:
- Major grant from the John Templeton Foundation for research on the concept of "happiness" in modern China
- Awards include Distinguished Article Award and Student Practitioner Award from the American Sociological Association, Candace Rogers Award from the Eastern Sociological Society, among others
- Has contributed to three books and published widely on social issues and religion in China and other countries
