Li Ying

Li Ying is a professor and executive vice dean of the School of Law at the China Women’s University (CWU). Li is a leading women’s rights lawyer and advocate in China, and serves as the secretary general of CWU’s Research Center for Women’s Human Rights. She is a participant in the Initiative for U.S.-China Dialogue on Global Issues Research Group on Women and Society.

  • Served as the vice dean of CWU’s School of Sociology and Law (2008-2011).
  • Contributed to several initiatives supporting women’s rights in China, including the development of a legislative proposal to guarantee the rights and interests of women, an investigation into suicides of rural women, and a cost-benefit analysis of an anti-domestic violence law.
