Great Influenza Centenary Project
The year 2018 marked the one-hundredth anniversary of the historic influenza pandemic of 1918 that killed more than 50 million people around the world. This centenary provided Georgetown University, through its university-wide Global Health Initiative, an opportunity to engage a wide variety of disciplines, spanning all our campuses, schools, and departments, to reflect on the events of 1918 and to inform current challenges in responding to pandemic threats.
