Global Health Institute

Aleena Dawer (H’24) is an undergraduate student at Georgetown University’s School of Health pursuing a degree in global health, majoring in refugee health and minoring in chemistry. While at Georgetown, Aleena spent a semester abroad in a rural village in Tanga, Tanzania, where she spearheaded a primary, mixed-methods study on multidrug resistance and chronic infections. She also serves on the School of Health Academic Council and the Georgetown Scientific Research Journal. Additionally, she co-founded Ethica Global Alliance, an initiative reflecting her deep commitment to innovating global health through sustainable solutions. As a spring 2024 GHI student fellow, Aleena will work with Weijun Yu to support research on migrants' access to health care within the Gulf Cooperation Council region.
