The International Community

Washington, D.C., is home to more than 170 embassies and serves as the headquarters to a number of international agencies, including the World Bank the International Monetary Fund, and the Organization of American States.

Georgetown University and its faculty have strong ties to the D.C.-based international community, providing students with opportunities to interact with embassies and leading global organizations. Washington also serves as the headquarters to several major global NGOs, including Bread for the World, Salvation Army World Service Office, and United Way Worldwide. The proximity of the international community creates internship opportunities for students and brings many global experts to campus for lectures.
