
Academic Programs for a Global Education
The School of Foreign Service (SFS) was founded in 1919 as the first school of international studies in the United States. It is home to bachelor’s and master’s degrees in foreign service, as well as seven other internationally-focused graduate programs, research institutes dedicated to global issues, six regional centers, and a campus in Doha, Qatar.
Students and faculty in Georgetown College explore global issues across departments in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. The College is also home to many initiatives addressing important global challenges from the environment to justice and peace.

The McDonough School of Business (MSB) offers undergraduate, graduate, and executive business education programs, many through collaborations with international partners. With programs such as the Global Executive Master’s Degree in Business Administration, MSB prepares its students for careers in international business with a strong emphasis on global experience.

The McCourt School of Public Policy trains graduate students and practitioners to design and implement effective policies in the public, private, and non-profit sectors. In addition to study-abroad opportunities, the McCourt School offers many internationally-focused degrees, such as the Master in International Development Policy degree.

Located in Georgetown’s newest facility in downtown Washington, D.C., the School of Continuing Studies (SCS) offers a wide range of degree programs and applied learning experiences to a diverse community of students and professionals. SCS engages globally through a wide range of joint degree and non-degree programs with partners abroad.

The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences offers a variety of interdisciplinary graduate degrees, certificate programs, and research opportunities across the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. Through internationally focused programs and partnerships, students and faculty engage with academia, civil society, and government organizations abroad.

Located in downtown Washington, D.C., Georgetown Law Center offers Juris Doctor (J.D.), Master of Law (LL.M.), and Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD) degree programs. Faculty and students explore the law as a tool to address global challenges through internationally-focused centers, institutes, and clinics.

The Georgetown School of Medicine educates its students to become knowledgeable and ethical global practitioners dedicated to improving the health and well-being of others. A large portion of Georgetown’s medical students gain international experience through professional and service opportunities abroad.

Consistent with Georgetown’s mission to improve the health and well-being of all people, the School of Nursing & Health Studies (NHS) prepares students for a variety of careers in health services domestically and abroad. NHS houses the Departments of Nursing, Health Systems Administration, Human Science, and International Health.
