Paper Proposals for Christian Literary Imagination Symposium

On Monday, December 12, Georgetown University and Blackfriars Hall and Campion Hall, Oxford will be hosting a day-long Christian Literary Imagination Symposium featuring papers by scholars in the field, open to student responses. Refreshments, lunch, drinks, optional Mass, and dinner at Campion Hall are generously provided for registered attendees. Please visit the event page to register.

Eligibility

The symposium is designed for early-career researchers, postdocs, and graduate students interested in theology and literature. 

Topics

Eligible applicants are encouraged to submit paper proposals (10-12 minutes) either in response to the faculty papers, and/or related to one of their three areas: 

  1. Spiritual formation in literature/poetry 
  2. Female voices in Christian literature 
  3. Global Christianity

Papers should strictly adhere to the time limit and may be works in progress for faculty/peer questions and input.

To submit a proposed title and <200 word précis of your paper proposal, please email Fr. Joseph Simmons (joseph.simmons@georgetown.edu). The deadline for paper proposals is 5:00 p.m. [GMT +1] on Monday, November 7, and selections will be made by Friday, November 11.
