The Global Georgetown Alumni Community

The Global Georgetown Alumni Community

All around the world, Georgetown alumni maintain the tradition of lifelong engagement with the university. Some serve on boards of the university, individual schools, or programs. Many contribute to the activities of the capital campaign or provide independent support for scholarships and programming. Most of all, Georgetown's alumni serve as global ambassadors and builders of the university's brand and reputation. The Georgetown Alumni Association is the official organization of all Hoya alumni worldwide. It currently counts more than 165,000 members in over 110 countries. The association provides an exclusive lifelong network and benefits to alumni of all Georgetown schools. For example, alumni may make use of Georgetown career services resources and participate in global professional networks as they build their careers after graduation. The association also collaborates with Georgetown's career alliances in New York, London, Chicago, entertainment and media, and international affairs.

Another opportunity is the Georgetown Travel Society, which offers alumni, family, and friends unique itineraries around the world, often accompanied by Georgetown faculty.

Georgetown has significant alumni populations in Western Europe, Latin America, China, and Singapore, with growing numbers in other regions. The Office of Alumni Relations maintains a website through which alumni can locate regional clubs abroad. More than 30 alumni clubs can be found outside the United States, serving over 15,000 alumni around the globe.

The Office of Advancement offers a variety of ways for alumni to support and remain connected with the global Georgetown community. Most notably, the office helps Georgetown welcome alumni home to the Hilltop on several occasions each year, including homecoming and reunion weekends. John Carroll Weekend provides all alumni a chance to connect with the university and each other in a prominent global city each year.
