Julia Gillard, former prime minister of Australia, gave a lecture on the cultural transformation illustrated through women's changing roles in public life. She then engaged in a roundtable discussion with Baroness Mary Goudie and Baroness Margaret Prosser, chaired by Professor Evelyn Welch of Kings College.

Dr. Evelyn Welch is the provost and senior vice president (arts & sciences) at Kings College, London, where she is also a professor of Renaissance studies.
