Carolyn Hurley

Carolyn Hurley is a professor in the Departments of Oncology and of Microbiology and Immunology, as well as research director of the CW Bill Young Marrow Donor Recruitment and Research Program in the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. Her global health focus is on treatment of fatal blood diseases through the transplantation of hematopoietic stem cell donors unrelated to the patient. She works with unrelated donor registries in about 60 countries all over the world through a voluntary organization called World Marrow Donor Association, which is headquartered in the Netherlands. She is focused on defining standards of practice and accreditation.
