Chester Crocker

Chester Crocker is the James R. Schlesinger Professor of Strategic Studies in the School of Foreign Service. He joined the Georgetown faculty in 1972.

Major international activities include:

  • Served as Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs from 1981 to 1989
  • Chaired the board of the United States Institute of Peace (1992-2004) and continued through 2011 to serve as a board member.
  • Member of the World Bank’s Independent Advisory Board on Governance and Anti-Corruption
  • Founding chairman of G3 Good Governance Group Ltd., a London-based strategic advisory firm, and founding member of the Global Leadership Foundation
