Chester Crocker

Chester Crocker is the James R. Schlesinger Professor of the Practice of Strategic Studies in the School of Foreign Service. He joined the Georgetown faculty in 1972.

International activities include:

  • Served as Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs from 1981 to 1989
  • Chaired the board of the United States Institute of Peace (1992-2004) and continued through 2011 to serve as a board member
  • Founding member of the Global Leadership Foundation
  • Distinguished fellow at the Centre for International Governance Innovation
