Dejana Braithwaite

Dejana Braithwaite is an associate professor in the Department of Oncology at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. She has served as both the co-chair and, later, chair of the Global Cancer Prevention Special Interest Group at the American Society for Preventive Oncology from 2010-2015.

International activities include:

  • Program Committee, Special Workshop on HPV and Cervical Cancer Control, Guatemala, 2019
  • Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine (Epidemiology and Public Health) since 2017
  • Conducted analysis of the WHO Study on Global Ageing and Adult Health (SAGE)
  • Co-authored "Cancer prevention for global health: a report from the ASPO International Cancer Prevention Interest Group" (2012)
  • Conducted a study on women with cervical cancer in China who are also living with HIV
  • Conducting a study on mHealth technology and cervical cancer control in Guatemala 
  • Lead author on a series of articles on global cancer prevention and control in the AACR journal, Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers and Prevention
