Gwen Kirkpatrick is a professor of Spanish and chair of the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. She joined the Georgetown faculty in 2004 and was a member of the Latin America Initiative Faculty Committee (2016-2017).
International activities include:
- Author of six books and over 45 articles in academic journals and edited volumes.
- Sits on the editorial boards of Inti, Revista de Estudios Hispanicos, Latin American Literary Review, Twentieth Century, Interdisciplinary Studies, Revista Iberoamericana, Revista de Critica Literaria Latinoamericana, and Decimonónica.
- Served as a convener of the UC Humanities Research Institute (1998) and held a National Endowment for the Humanities Research Fellowship (1989-1990).
