Judith Tucker is a professor in the Department of History in the College and the Center for Contemporary Arab Studies in the School of Foreign Service. She joined the Georgetown faculty in 1983.
Major international activities include:
- Serves as president of the Middle East Studies Association
- Has received Fulbright fellowship four times and two times National Endowment for the Humanities Research, among other awards
- Has served on the advisory board or editorial board of several professional associations or journals, including the International Journal of Middle East Studies, Middle East Studies Association, Cambridge Middle East Studies (Cambridge University Press), the Encyclopedia of Women in World History (Oxford University Press), the American Historical Review, and others
- Author of six books and over 30 articles in other books and journals, and editor of the series Women and Gender: Middle East and Islamic World (Brill)
