R. Daniel Kelemen
R. Daniel Kelemen is associate dean for faculty and the McCourt Chair at the McCourt School of Public Policy. He is also professor of law (by courtesy) at Georgetown Law. Kelemen's research interests include the politics and law of the European Union, comparative politics and law, and comparative public policy. Prior to joining Georgetown University, Kelemen held faculty positions at Rutgers University and the University of Oxford. He has been a member of the Institute for Advanced Study and a visiting fellow in the Program in Law and Public Affairs (LAPA) at Princeton University, and a Fulbright Fellow in European Union Studies at the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) in Brussels. Kelemen is a senior associate (non-resident), in the Europe, Russia, and Eurasia Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). He is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and a member of the Executive Committee of the European Union Studies Association. Kelemen comments regularly on EU affairs for European and American media. He has extensive experience consulting on EU affairs for political risk analysis firms and policy-makers. He holds an A.B. in sociology from the University of California, Berkeley and an M.A. and Ph.D. in political science from Stanford University. He is a member of the Georgetown Democracy Initiative Steering Committee.
