Global Issues

Georgetown’s schools, departments, centers, and institutes explore global issues ranging from human rights to development and the environment in order to advance the common good.

As a university in a leading global city—Washington, D.C.—Georgetown is ideally positioned to address the pressing challenges facing the global community. Research and teaching across schools address global issues such as migration and global health from a range of disciplinary perspectives. A critical, cross-cutting element of this work is the ethical dimension of world affairs, the centrality of human rights and human dignity, and the promotion of intercultural and interreligious understanding.
