Education for Service and Leadership in a Global Era

Georgetown is a student-centered research university committed to Jesuit principles of care for the whole person and the promotion of justice. Our community forms students with knowledge, skills, and character to serve and lead in a globalizing world. International students are a key component of Georgetown’s community. The university is home to over 2,000 international students from more than 120 countries. The Office of Global Services manages visa processes and other support services for international students.

Across schools and campuses, Georgetown’s curriculum is designed to facilitate formational experiences and global perspectives for all students. Academic programs prepare students to contribute to their personal and professional communities as women and men for others.

Georgetown supports over 160 study abroad programs in 40 countries. The Office of Global Education is the main source of information on Georgetown-sponsored study abroad programs for undergraduates.

The co-curriculum also offers a wide array of global experiences. These opportunities allow students to enrich their studies beyond study abroad through work, service, and research around the world.

Georgetown is home to many internationally focused student organizations that celebrate world cultures, discuss global issues, and prepare students to address international challenges.
