In recent years, the acceleration of digital transformation has seen the financial services industry undergoing massive changes. Coupled with the COVID-19 pandemic and financial crisis, financial institutions are capitalizing on opportunities to innovate while also grappling with issues like climate change and the significant long-term risks posed for banks and the financial system. What are some of the key trends, innovation, and priorities in banking? How can Georgetown students better prepare and position themselves for internships and careers in this industry?

The Global Engagement Committee of the Georgetown University Board of Regents convened industry leaders for a conversation with students and alumni about these critical questions. Maria Hackley, the global co-head of industrials at Citigroup Inc, Elizabeth McCaul, member of the Supervisory Board of the European Central Bank, and Paul Horvath, CEO of Orchard Global Asset Management, held an insightful discussion of industry trends and career paths in an era of uncertainty. The discussion was moderated by Phillip Fletcher, an ex-banking partner and attorney at Milbank LLP.

The webinar series is sponsored by the Office of the Vice President for Global Engagement in collaboration with the Office of the Provost.
