Bryan McCann is a professor in the Department of History and an associate faculty member of the Center for Latin American Studies in the Walsh School of Foreign Service. He joined the Georgetown faculty in 2002 and was a member of the Latin America Initiative Faculty Committee (2016-2017).
International activities include:
- Published four books and over 15 articles in academic journals and edited volumes.
- Conducting ongoing research projects include Cities from Scratch: The Informal City in Latin America (2014), which explores urban informality in Latin America and analyzes connections to evolving political and economic structures.
- Served as president of the Brazilian Studies Association from 2014 to 2016.
