James Millward is a professor in the Department of History in the College and in the School of Foreign Service. A member of the faculty advisory committee for the Initiative for U.S.-China Dialogue on Global Issues, he joined the Georgetown faculty in 1996.
International activities include:
- Author of six books and over 25 scholarly articles and chapters on China and Central Eurasia
- Served on the China and Inner Asia Council of the Association for Asian Studies; served on the Executive Board of the Central Eurasian Studies Society (CESS); president of CESS (2010)
- National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, Public Intellectuals Program Fellow (2005-2007)
