Shareen Joshi is an assistant professor in the Asian Studies Program and the Global Human Development Program in the School of Foreign Service and a member of the India Initiative Faculty Advisory Committee. Her work focuses on economic development, particularly human capital and agency. She joined the Georgetown faculty in 2008.
Major international activities include:
- Awards received include the Yale University Arthur Leylan Dissertation Fellowship, Cowles Foundation Scholarship for Research in Economics, and Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship, among others;
- Research project grants received from domestic and international institutions for work in India including the International Growth Center, Swedish Research Council, John and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, and Georgetown;
- Author or co-author of over 30 peer-reviewed papers, book chapters, and working papers.
