South and Central Asia

Across Georgetown University’s schools and departments, faculty and students are broadly engaged in study, research, and programs related to South and Central Asia.

Georgetown scholars and students benefit from a Washington, D.C. location and close proximity to United States policy-making institutions and international and non-governmental organizations that enhance the university’s engagement in South and Central Asia. The university is especially active in India, where Georgetown has partnerships with leading institutions in the sciences and other fields. In November 2015 Georgetown University launched an India Initiative, a platform for high-level dialogue among American and Indian leaders from government, business, civil society, and the academy.
