In November 2020, Pope Francis invited young people around the world to gather virtually to consider ways of making the economy of today and tomorrow, fair, sustainable, and inclusive. The Economy of Francesco gathering, inspired by the example of St. Francis of Assisi, featured workshops, seminars, and lectures with leading experts in economics, sustainable development, and the social sciences, including Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus.
In order to encourage wide participation from the Georgetown University community, the Office of the President offered 24 fellowships to professional and graduate students and alumni under the age of 35. Below you can explore their reflections about their experience and how the Georgetown community can help advance the ideas and priorities that emerged out of the gathering.
