Matthew Kroenig is an associate professor in the Department of Government in the College and the School of Foreign Service. He joined the Georgetown faculty in 2008.
International activities include:
- Author of The Return of Great Power Rivalry (forthcoming); The Logic of American Nuclear Strategy, (2018), A Time to Attack: The Looming Iranian Nuclear Threat (2014) and Exporting the Bomb: Technology Transfer and the Spread of Nuclear Weapons (2010); co-author of The Handbook of National Legislatures: A Global Survey (2009); co-editor of Causes and Consequences of Nuclear Proliferation (2011) and Nuclear Posture and Nonproliferation: Causes and Consequences for the Spread of Nuclear Weapons (2015); and author of more than 30 articles
- Deputy director for strategy at the Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security at the Atlantic Council
- Twice served in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, including a 2010-2011 international affairs fellowship from the Council on Foreign Relations, during which he focused on Iran policy
