Across Georgetown University’s schools and departments, faculty and students are broadly engaged in study, research, and programs related to South and Central Asia.

Scholars across Georgetown’s Main Campus, Medical Center, and Georgetown Law explore multidisciplinary issues related to India, and faculty collaborations with institutions on the subcontinent are increasing. In addition to these partnerships, Georgetown students and scholars have the opportunity to engage with key policy institutions and cultural centers in Washington, DC, that enhance their work related to India. In 2011, Georgetown hosted the first U.S.-India Higher Education Summit. From 2015 to 2020 the Georgetown University India Initiative promoted greater opportunities for educational experiences, research collaboration, cultural exchange, and international dialogue.
